Blogging

In layman’s terms, a blog is an online journal. It usually contains entries from an individual’s experiences and thoughts made available to the Internet. The term “blog” came from the abbreviation of the term Web log, which is simply a web site. The term “blogging” is the verb form of this activity, which means adding updating content or the entries in the Web site. The term “blogger,” on the other hand, is the person who owns and maintains the blog.

Making a blog is uber easy. There are a lot of blogging sites that offer free registration, and upon signing up, you can quickly customize the theme to your liking, and add content. Content is not only limited to text, but also other media available like pictures, music and videos. These resources help the blogger express himself, and also makes it easier for the readers to understand and appreciate the blog. The number of authors in a blog is not necessarily limited to one either. Some blogs have multiple authors, and these bloggers make articles based on the subject matters in which they are experts of. Bloggers don’t have to be writers by profession, in fact, most of them only use writing as a form of creative outlet.

Blogging has not only become a fad for some, but also an industry for technology enthusiasts. Some blogs can help promote a business, and even generate income for others. Believe it or not, some bloggers actually get paid for reviewing a certain topic like food, music, fashion, or technology. This is really cool, because you can get paid for something you enjoy doing Even celebrities maintain blogs too. They usually post entries to give their fans updates on their albums, tours, or shows. Blogs are great ways to reach out to other people and in their cases, to their fans. . It has also evolved into other branches, like microblogging. This includes very short posts that enable bloggers to drop a line or two, especially when they have tight schedules.

Blogging is becoming one of the most common hobbies of techies nowadays. It is very easy to get into it, and the learning curve is not hard at all. You only need to connect to the Internet, surf the web for an idea of blog sites, and once you get the basics, you’re good to go. Some people use blogging as an avenue for interaction. Upon posting of the entries, other bloggers can leave comments on what they thought of the entries, that will also help the blogger identify areas of improvement. More often than not, the entries are are sorted according to the dates posted, or the categories for easier updating. The frequent updates also attract more visitors in the site.

If there are award giving bodies for web sites, there are also those that give recognition to outstanding bloggers. The blog awards aim to judge these web logs based on how rich the content is, how creative the design is, and especially, the frequency of updates.

Traffic is The Holy Grail of Your Online Business

Suddenly housebound: that is primarily the reason why I decided to try affiliate marketing all of the sudden. There were so many promises from so many affiliate programs, and all of them sounded wonderful. But my main problem was how to get started. It did take me a long while before I landed with this program called Affiliate Cash Secrets (ACS) – and I mean a long time (4 years) while. I must admit that I subscribed to several other programs first. I’m sure that like most everyone who was suddenly “inspired” by the idea of making cash by simply becoming an affiliate, things did not actually go as smoothly as I hoped it to be. So when I finally (quite literally) stumbled on ACS, I still had a few reservations about going full time.

Fortunately for me, ACS turned out to be both a superb program and learning tool for me. For beginners and pros alike, there is this one note that should be considered – and probably the best and most honest one you could get out of all these affiliate programs available in the World Wide Web – that ACS is not promising you millions overnight. Like all business ventures really worth investing in, this program will and has to take time. There are no promises of hocus-pocus maneuvers, and certainly no hidden card tricks to fool other consumers in the virtual market. In short, this is a program that is guaranteed to earn you an honest day’s pay once you have set it up.

Also, this is not a fad program, and this is not like so many other affiliate software programs I have encountered over the Web. I have noticed that some of those programs are no longer serviceable after six months of initial success. Simply put, these programs lost out to the fast, almost continuous evolutionary changes that happen to the World Wide Web.  ACS is not based on whatever “trick” (to be more precise: glitch) that can be exploited off the Web 2.0 technology. This is a long-term program that can accommodate whatever changes that may happen in virtual space. This program also contains some of the marketing tools I never considered using before, like the creation of my own squeeze page system, etc. Best of all, there is a reliable tech support and a .pdf instructional manual I can rely on for the lot of my questions – these are luxuries that none of the other programs I could afford.

Another thing I like about this program is the way it encourages affiliate marketers to create their own online assets. The primary asset on this program’s list is well… the creation of responsive mailing lists. According to the creator - Derrick VanDyke of the ACS program, lists are a safeguard  At the very least, a responsive mailing list is

“The Money is in the Lists”

something you can continue to build on, as long as you continue your marketing efforts.

Automatic Money Machines

A Blogger’s Fortune

I never thought that my love for writing about my misadventures and my travels would lead me to have a life where I don’t have to wear a tie to work. Sure, I still have a desk but it is overlooking the lake that is outside my house in the country.

I have been there, the smoggy, gloomy life in the city. I was actually a city kid. So I thought that was where I would probably live all of my life. I had graduated with a business degree so I thought the high rise buildings would be my prison and provider for the rest of my days. It was not until I got into ranting on an online journal that I realized that I actually had a talent for making the humdrum parts of my life into something that people would actually read.

That is how I got started in blogging.

As most of you know, nowadays there are more in store here than reading someone’s personal thoughts about just about anything that they could think of. I still keep my original journal but I have made more specific ones on affiliate sites that try to mentor other people in specific trades like home based businesses or online businesses. More often than not, people are interested on how they are going to make easy online money.

The first thing that I tell these people is that they should have something unique to sell. Otherwise, they would loose to the bigger, more marketable ones that have gotten ahead of them. If they really do have a unique selling point that is a cut above the rest and they can provide their services or sell their products in a lower price, then perhaps they still have a chance. But that would require them the one thing that can make or break your venture to make money online.

And what would that be? Why, connections of course.

Fortunately, there are those who sell referrals or possible associates on this kind of things, they can be presence or content providers. But do be careful as to not be fooled by those that tell you they would let the whole internet community know about you. Spamming is not an acceptable marketing strategy.

As for me, when I found out that I could actually earn money by placing ads on my blog as well as joining pay to search, pay to click and pay to join sites, then I went for it. In the beginning I just went to those sites to prove that they are not scams. As I unearth more and more profitable and legitimate online money making ideas, I became a more active member in those sites, often time using one site that provides traffic to direct them on my blog and thus placing readers on the right page that would show them links to advertisements that would of course pay me per exposure or click.

This takes a lot of effort if you are still starting out. But if you know that right people to tap and to help, then you might just be able to live off the checks that come every month from several bosses.

How to Make Money with Blog

These days, the Internet has become quite a profitable medium for a lot of people. Most people want to earn extra income and some want to start their own business. For these people, the Internet has proven a godsend. On cyberspace, they can make money with blog.

If you want to earn just like these people do, then read on and find out how you can make money with blog.

It’s not hard to make money with blog. The further advancement of technology has brought about massive changes in the way we live our lives these days. Today, most if not all of us can’t seem to survive without our cellular phones, our satellite TVs, our laptops, and an Internet connection. We rely on the Internet to make our life easy and comfortable. For most of us, an Internet service is no longer a luxury; it’s become a necessity that we just have to have.

Well, since you’re reading this, the assumption is that you have online access. That’s great. That’s the first thing you need so you can make money with blog.

The next thing you need is a good plan, and you can only come up with one if you really do want to make money with blog. Like any other serious business that’s a good source of income, blogging takes time and effort for success.

A good plan includes your marketing and advertising strategy. There are numerous blogs launched every hour of every day, so you want to make sure that yours will have something new to offer the public. Make a thorough research on what is in demand nowadays and see if you can make any of those hot products or services even hotter. Also make a careful analysis of the trends and statistics regarding the product or service of your choice.

Another important aspect to consider if you want to make money with blog is your range of Internet-related skills. You don’t have to be highly adept at HTML and CSS, but a basic knowledge of these will help you “pimp” your site’s layout for convenience and attractiveness. You should also understand site engine optimization (SEO) because this will help create traffic and promote your blog. Learn about tagging, social bookmarking, and contextual advertising. There are other skills you need to know for you to be web savvy and you have to develop those. Bloggers who enjoy stellar results are those that are more technically adept.

This comes as a warning: don’t rush into the prospect of making easy money off your blog. If you want to make money with blog, take the time to come up with a feasible (and preferably foolproof) money-making strategy or at least a general philosophy you can work with for your new financial endeavor. Did you know that only 1% of bloggers are successful in making money with their blog? That’s what research shows. Now if you don’t want to be part of that statistics, then take blogging for seriously. With hard work and inspired ambition, you will make money with blog.

When to Sign In and Out

Not everyone is able to succeed in their plans to earn money online on a business opportunity that they found. It could be a mixture of bad timing or lack of luck on the online money making idea that you tried.

It could be that someone else has a similar content blog that has been around much longer than yours. Or it could be there is another home based business that choose a better affiliate program than you did. Thus their product and service became the better option for most since it is more popular than yours.

So what happens then, do you fold and sign out or do you take everything in and evaluate your mistakes. After which you would sign in with more information and perhaps a better marketing plan than before. Now that you know what works and what doesn’t, then perhaps you would be more successful.

Having the right attitude in pushing your small business off the ground is a necessity to true success, not just an entrepreneur but as a person as well. If you are not able to learn from your mistakes then you are a failure as a businessman and as a human being.

If you let defeat cover up your initial goal is to lift your business from the gutter then you are indeed a loser. It is never easy to earn cash online. There is always going to be a level of sacrifice that is involved in it regardless of what they say. At least this is what actual millionaires who have a say in the business of making money online actually do.

Sure there are those who would say that all you need is to have a great number of targets and enough convincing lies to sell your product. But that would provide you with linear income, a one time deal. Why? Because the customer would realize that they had been duped off their hard earned cash.

So what would they do? Rant of course. Not just to their wives or friends but online, where it would really hurt your future target market. Residual income come from returning customers, more often than not. They are the one that breathe life and bring in more to breathe fresh life into your business.

Laziness and desperation would often lead a person to try to take risky opportunities just to regain the money that they have lost. Do not gamble too much on uncalculated risks when you are trying to rebuild. But try not to pass on the kind that would actually be able to help you in the long run. Being too cautious would also lead to your demise.

Be smarter and be more precise in your choice of affiliates, content and marketing strategy. Learning how things actually work, both from the positive light and negative light would prevent you from being blindsided again.

This way you are able to earn a decent and sustainable income from your small business and are also able to provide service to those whose lives are enriched by your products. That is the real win-win situation.

ASP.NET Blogging Software

Of all of the different kinds of programs on the market
today, many people feel that Microsoft’s recently
released ASP.NET blogging software is the most
advanced. In many ways, this particular program is
more adaptable and more versatile than any other
blogging software on the market. Although most of the
people who favor the program are accomplished coders
who are familiar with programming languages like html
and C++, this new program from Microsoft is much
easier to use than a lot of other blog design software
that incorporates hands-on coding. One of the things
that makes ASP.NET stand apart from its competitors is
the fact that it allows designers to use a wide variety of
programming languages when they build a blog. This
means that a larger number of coders can realize their
dreams by programming in the language with which
they are most familiar and in which they are most
accomplished.

A lot of people have welcomed ASP.NET blogging
software with enthusiasm and with open arms.
However, that doesn’t mean that the ASP.NET program
is right for everybody. If you are not familiar with
computer languages like javascript or perl, you may
find that the release of ASP.NET does not directly
affect you at all. However, if you are an experienced
web designer, you are likely to find much to celebrate in
this exciting new program.

Blogging 101

Writing Content and Getting Constant Traffic to Your Blog

Blogging has truly revolutionized the way one experiences the digital age. There is, it seems, no limit to what one can do with the help of blogs. Even the smallest aspect of your daily personal life like recording journal entries has been given an entirely new dimension.

Going on from there, there is a lot of scope of picking up interesting debates and discussions through blogs. You can even start some of these discussions yourself.

Moreover, there is nothing as interesting and attractive than that fact that you can even earn some money while blogging.

This is, by far, the most path breaking innovation that has entered the blog sphere. The requirements for this are very low. You need not be a scientist who posts revolutionary details about his latest experiment.

If you blog well, that is to say, if you blog well enough for people to come read it, you earn good chances of making quick money, by just going about your daily activity of posting blogs!

Here are some of the things you can do to make sure that your blogging activities get rewarded by more than just comments and praises:

You could get yourself registered with a search engine. But keep in mind that you must do it only if you are confident enough that your blog gets good traffic. That way, the higher the ranking your blog achieves, the more you get paid.

While writing your blogs you also need to keep in mind a few things. This is not only to ensure that you get a steady traffic, but also for the fact that your blog readership can increase so that the ranking of your blog with search engines go higher.

Here are a few tips that should see you through this:

· Reader Friendly Content: At all costs keep your content – articles, poems, photographs, videos – reader friendly, that is to say, it should keep more and more readers interested. Your reader must be at the center of you post in a way that your reader must feel that he is gaining something out of reading your post. This is the basic rule in marketing.

· Worthwhile: Never let the reader feel that he has been tricked into reading your post or clicking on your blog link. You are thwarting all your long term chances of that reader coming back to your blog, in which case your blog rankings over the long term are in a dicey position.

· Check for errors: Making grammatical and spelling errors can be a major put off for many readers. They may not visit your blog again simply because the errors that you make are too high. Always proof read your blog. A small typo here and there can be understood, but make sure you don’t make any major errors.

· KISS: Or, Keep It Short and Simple. This is the thumb rule you must follow at all point. Long winding posts tend to get boring. And it may contain nothing that is interesting to the reader. Also no one has the time enough for your blog, no matter how well you write. In fact, your blog will be much more appreciated if you put your thoughts simply and shortly.

· Interesting: Make sure that you hold your reader’s attention by making your posts snazzy. They must not be written in a tone that is tiring to read. Write short sentences and keep then crisp and precise. Always hit the point immediately in the course of your article.

· Link: Keep linking the blogs you read to yours in order to build a network those people will be in turn encouraged to link you. Remember, linking increases rankings.

· Keywords: Using the keywords of your posts frequently increases the search ability of that particular article of yours which in turn leads more people to visit your blog.

· Clear Thoughts: Make sure you put your thought clearly before the readers so that it does not become tedious for them to read.

· Colloquialism: You can write in a friendly tone. Avoid using too many slang words, but otherwise, if your post demands it, you can be colloquial.

· Post Title: A catchy post title or headline is half your business solved. It can glue a reader to your post almost immediately. However, do not put misleading post titles, or you will lose creditability.

So, be consistent with your blog content and watch traffic flowing in to your blog!

How Can Online Blogging Be Profitable to Ordinary Individuals?

Ranking of any website depends on a few factors. It would basically depend on the relevance of the article according to the key words used; the number of times that page has been linked and viewed, etc.

These are quite easy to follow, and if these factors are carefully noted and looked into, the rankings of your website can increase considerably.

The first step is to get your website linked through various other pages. The more the pages are that contain your links, the better ranking they will receive. The second aspect to be kept in mind is how often you update the content on your website.

Frequently edited and updated sites receive higher ranking in search engines than those that have not been looked at by the owners for ages. Always editing the content of your website as a whole may not be an option.

In this case what you can do is add a Blog to your website. A Blog will function as nothing but a forum for people to come and discuss the themes that concern your website too.

It will create a platform, as well as become a journal whereby you can also post updates about your operations and your website. The advantage is that the content on such Blogs will not be restricted only to text, but pictures and videos can be posted too.

The few easy steps as described below will take you through how to create your own blog and what are the things you must look out for:

* Cost can never be a problem because free blogging services are quite popular all over the world. If you choose sites like Blogger or LiveJournal, you are sure to get exactly the kind of platform you are looking for. They are absolutely free.

* If you are not very comfortable with web designing techniques, you need not worry. Creating your blog is not as complicated as designing template for a website. These blogging services provide a wide range of templates from which you can choose the one most suited to your tastes.

* You must also use your discretion while blogging. Especially if you are incorporating your blog within your website, or creating a blog to increase awareness of your product, you need to keep in mind that this is an open forum which is read by all. You do not want to say anything that may end up angering your clients. Politics and religion are the two most controversial themes, and therefore anything about those must be carefully blogged about.

* Anything that is particularly reader friendly and does not anger too many people is considered ‘safe’. If your aim is indeed to increase the ranking of your site, you will have to make sure many people read it. You can do this by making your content user friendly.

* Also keep an eye on what other people write or say on their blogs. This can give you a general idea of what kind of responses those articles receive, and you can get valuable tips from them.

Blogging has come to be considered a highly effective marketing tool. You can easily create awareness of your product and get clients and customers to interact with each other. And not only customers, also those who are relatively new to your product get a platform to ask questions and clear their air about your product.

Moreover, it also increases your website rankings can increase because the blog is constantly being updates, commented on, and discussions are always going on. Because of its sheer activity, the rankings improve, creating more awareness of the product.

The following are the pointers based on which you can blog about your product:

* Never make the blog post too long uselessly. It must be well written. Long posts tend to get dreary and they are not ‘catchy’ enough for people to sit and go through them.

* Update regularly. Since you don’t need to write long posts, that is not much effort. Ideally, blog 3-7 times a week.

* Be entertaining where required, everyone can do with some light hearted humor, without being derogatory.

* You need not stick only to text. Video and photo blogging are fats catching on and are interesting ways to share your thoughts, and make your videos and photographs well known.

* Be yourself. Do not to ape, imitate or copy someone else’s content.

Blogging for Children: Starting Them Young

Encouraging children to engage themselves in modern technology can be disturbing especially when they spend most of their time on it. But if you recognize the advantages of being in front of the computer and knowing the basics, you could teach it to your kids and voila, a web artist, computer specialist, or a journalist might be born.

If you see the future of writing in your children, enrich his abilities. How? By starting with this, get him linked to the blogging community. Teach him the core information, strategies and benefits of being a blogger. Before you do, make sure you have the knowledge as well.

The essential tools for making his way through are support and lots of motivation. Of course a computer would be great, same with an internet connection in the comfort of your home.

Children embrace fame and loves having someone to appreciate what they do. Acceptance, acknowledgement and attention provide sufficient self-esteem for them to grow. Introducing the blogging society to your children can help expand his know-how in the English language, broaden grammatical skills, and advance spelling talents.

Development in the art of writing at a budding age is truly an enrichment of your child’s innovative mind. Furthermore, blogging can have numerous benefits:

Trigger the sense of responsibility – let your child know that blogging is not merely posting; certain responsibilities are brought up like updating, posting daily blogs, answering reader’s queries, and more.

Establishes communication – connection to the outside world enable kids to reach out to distant relatives and friends. Better yet, getting updates and issues of what’s going on.

Enhances creativity – upon knowing a child’s potentials, enhance it. Attending to his talents provides eagerness in the child and he would be more confident to profess his skills.

Enriches vocabulary – it’s doesn’t stop in learning ABC, your child has the opportunity to play with the words. Make them think. How could I construct an effective sentence that could affect both the reader and the writer? He should learn to cope with words or phrases, correctly. Visiting websites like those that have a thesaurus, dictionary, etc. Which can help the child use other words aside from those that are said every day.

As parents, provide the highest level of understanding and commitment to your kids. Be alert for the dangers in handling the internet. Some scenes and sites aren’t that suitable to visit. Children must also be reminded that privacy should be maintained. Disclosing information that is risky and jeopardizing and is unsafe for posting.
